Cancellation Policy

This policy applies to the Creative Writing Matters conference registration.

Cancellations

  • Cancellations received more than 30 days before the conference date (Friday, 4 June 2027) will receive a full refund, less the ticketing fee of 5.35% + AUD $1.19 per ticket.

  • Cancellations received 30 days or fewer before the conference date (Friday, 4 June 2027) are non-refundable.

Substitutions

You may substitute your conference registration with another participant eligible for the same registration type. Substitutions are permitted until Monday, 31 May 2027 and apply only to the conference registration or event.

Event Changes & Force Majeure

CWM reserves the right to convert the conference to a virtual format for any reason.

If event cancellation occurs due to circumstances beyond our control, no refund will be payable. Examples include:

 

  • Natural disasters (fire, flood, earthquake, storm)

  • Pandemic or epidemic

  • Government restrictions or regulations

  • Civil unrest, strikes, or labour disputes

  • Acts of terrorism or war

  • Failure of essential service providers (e.g., venue, catering, AV suppliers)

  • Power outages or technology failures impacting virtual delivery

  • Illness or medical incapacity of the organiser
